A lichenicolous, parasitic, hyphomycete.
Mycelium intracellular in the host's hyphae,
branching, c. 2 pm thick, uncoloured and
hardly visible in water, becoming distinct in
LCB. Conidiophores short, of one or a few
cells, superficial. Conidiogenous cells integrated,
terminal. Conidiogenesis enteroblastic,
conidia smooth, l-celled, 7-8 x 3.5-4 ltm, or
rarely 2-celled and 1,I-I4 x 3.5-4.5 Fn,
adhering in chains, easily separating.
The new species is rather close to ?i delicata
M. S. Christ. & D. Hawksw. but differs in
the mostly nonseptate, easily separating conidia.
