18. CLASSIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM WAGES<br />

18.1 The classifications and minimum wages for an employee, other than one<br />

specified in clause 18.4, are set out in the following table:<br />

18.2 For the purposes of clause 18.1, any entitlement to a minimum wage<br />

expressed to be by the week means any entitlement which an employee would<br />

receive for performing 38 hours of work.<br />

18.3 The classification definitions are set out in Schedule B – Classification<br />

Structure and Definitions.<br />

18.4 The following employees are not entitled to the minimum wages set out in the<br />

table in clause 18.1:<br />

(a) an apprentice (see clause 19 – Apprentice minimum wages and clause<br />

20 – Adult apprentice minimum wages);<br />

(b) a trainee (see clause 21 – Trainee minimum wages); and<br />

(c) an employee receiving a supported wage (see clause 22 – Supported<br />

wage system and Schedule E–Supported Wage System).<br />

19. APPRENTICE MINIMUM WAGES<br />

19.1 The minimum wages for an apprentice, except as provided for in clause 20<br />

– Adult apprentice minimum wages, are to be calculated in accordance with<br />

the percentages set out below (calculated to the nearest $0.10, less than $0.05<br />

to be disregarded) applied to the Level 5 classification minimum weekly wage<br />

in clause 18.1:<br />

(a) Four year apprenticeship:<br />
