20.3 Subject to clause 20.1, where an adult apprenticeship is shortened in<br />

accordance with clause 13.4, the adult apprentice is to be paid the minimum<br />

wage corresponding to the stage of the apprenticeship being undertaken.<br />

21. TRAINEE MINIMUM WAGES<br />

21.1 National training wage trainee minimum wages<br />

The minimum wages for a trainee covered by the national training wage<br />

provisions are set out in Schedule D–National Training Wage.<br />

22. SUPPORTED WAGE SYSTEM<br />

See Schedule E–Supported Wage System.<br />

23. EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE DUTIES<br />

23.1 An employee may be directed to carry out such duties, and use such tools as<br />

may be required, which are within the limits of the employee’s skill,<br />

competence and training including, but not limited by, duties which are<br />

incidental and peripheral to the employee’s main task or function.<br />

23.2 An employee may be directed to transfer to another job or location, or onto<br />

or off a building site at the discretion of the employer.<br />

23.3 An instruction issued by an employer under clauses 23.1 and 23.2 must be<br />

consistent with the employer’s responsibility to provide a safe and healthy<br />

working environment.<br />

24. ALLOWANCES AND SPECIAL RATES<br />

24.1 All-purpose allowances<br />

The following allowances apply for all purposes of this award:<br />

(a) Leading hands<br />

A leading hand in charge of one or more people must be paid the<br />

following, in addition to the minimum wage for the highest<br />

classification supervised or their own minimum wage, whichever is<br />

higher:<br />

In charge of Amount of the standard rate<br />

1 employee 91.2% per week extra<br />

2-5 employees 200.2% per week extra<br />

6-10 employees 256.3% per week extra<br />

11 or more employees 340.9% per week extra<br />
