PROCEDURES<br />

Caution<br />

<strong>These</strong> procedure <strong>are</strong> provided for crew reference<br />

only. t is highly recommended <strong>that</strong> crews take full<br />

advantage of <strong>the</strong> Red Flag training missions to<br />

practice fundamental operational procedures before<br />

attempting ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> Persian Gulf or Flight of <strong>the</strong><br />

Old Dog Missions.<br />

Note<br />

The use of keyboard "hot keys" can be extremely<br />

useful in <strong>the</strong>se procedures. Please see <strong>the</strong> separate<br />

"Installation & Reference" guide accompanying this<br />

manual for a complete list of available "hot keys".<br />

Note<br />

Basic startup procedures <strong>are</strong> also available from <strong>the</strong><br />

copilot EVS. Select <strong>the</strong> PROCEDURAL button and<br />

scroll through <strong>the</strong> screens by selecting <strong>the</strong> <br />

buttons.<br />

Preflight<br />

Copilot Checklist<br />

1) Batteries on.<br />

2) Rudder/Elevator Hydraulic switches ON.<br />

3) Landing/Taxi lights ON.<br />

4) Nav lights ON.<br />

5) Anti-collision lights ON.<br />

6) Interphone ON (default).<br />

7) Cabin pressure 7.45 psi<br />

Pilot Checklist<br />

1) Parking Brake ON (unless <strong>the</strong> aircraft must first<br />

taxi to <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> runway).<br />

2) Taxi/Land Ratio switch set to Land (unless <strong>the</strong><br />

aircraft must first taxi to position).<br />

3) Flaps extended.<br />

Starting Engines<br />

Pilot Checklist<br />

(This procedure is also followed when restarting an<br />

individual engine in flight.)<br />

1) Engines ON. (Click <strong>the</strong> individual engine lights,<br />

or click ALL, on <strong>the</strong> right side of <strong>the</strong> Pilot's<br />

instrument panel, to turn on <strong>the</strong> engine switches on.<br />

The engine lights will illuminate.)<br />

2) ENGINE START switch to C. (Click <strong>the</strong><br />

ENGINE START switch to C to ignite <strong>the</strong> started<br />

cartridges. The engines will start, and <strong>the</strong> PWR<br />

display will show 1%)<br />
