and in case of any defect pointed out by GAIL authorities/users,
the contractor shall make due repairs and replacements promptly
at his own cost.
In case it is noticed that there is a variation and difference in the
kilometers in the logbook/duty slip as verified by GAIL official and
the actual run, GAIL will make the deduction on this account from
the bill of the contractor without any reference to him/them. In no
case, the contractor shall retain the logbook/duty slip or its copy
with him/them
4 Period of contract:
4.1 The contract will be initially for a period of two years and
extendable for further period of six months at sole discretion of
GAIL on the same rates/terms and conditions, and such extension
will be with the mutual consent of both the parties.
4.2 GAIL can terminate the contract without assigning any reason
after giving 30 days notice before expiry of the contract period.
5. Placement of hired vehicle(s) and inspection:
5.1 The decision for acceptance or rejection of any hired vehicle(s)
offered by the contractor shall remain with GAIL and the same
shall be final and binding upon the contractor.
6 Insurance:
The contractor at his own cost for all risks including strike & riots
should fully/comprehensively insure hired vehicle. All liabilities
whatsoever arising out of the problems of the hired vehicle(s) shall
rest upon the contractor.
7 Rates and mode of payment.
7.1 The contractor shall submit running account bills in one copy.
GAIL shall make the payments of R. A. bills within 15 days of
submission of the bill through Bill Watch System (BWS) counter of
GAIL, Mumbai. Out of 15 days 7 days will be given for EIC for
checking & certification of the bill and 8 days for F&A Deptt. for
checking of bills and releasing the payment.
7.2 This payment will be made after making necessary deductions as
stipulated elsewhere in the contract documents for security
