immediately on complaint of the user. If the contractor fails to do the
same, the vehicle shall be considered absent from duty and L/D
clause as per contract shall be applicable for the actual period of
absence.
1.9 GAIL reserves the right to get the meters of vehicle calibrated at the
cost of contractor, at any time, during currency of the contract at its
sole discretion and in the event of any error found in the meter, the
bill for the previous three months shall be accordingly corrected.
1.10 GAIL reserves the right to award the contract to more than one
contractor.
1.11 During C&MD & Directors visits, the contractor has to depute wellbehaved
drivers with uniform (including white captain cap).
1.12 Suitable fire extinguisher is required in all vehicles, which is
compulsory.
2. CONTRACT PERIOD:
2.1 The contract shall initially be for a period of two years, extendable for
a further period of six months at sole discretion of GAIL at the same
rates, terms and conditions.
2.2 GAIL also reserves the right to reduce the period of contract at the
time of award of contract itself or during the course of the contract
without assigning any reason thereof.
2.3 GAIL will not entertain any claim of whatsoever nature for increasing
the charges during the course of the contract excepting for statutory
price escalation, as per clause no. 2.5 of SCC.
2.4 The contractor shall submit monthly bill for hiring of vehicle to the HR
Dept., MZO, GAIL, Mumbai in triplicate along with duty slip, duly
completed in all respects.
PRICE ESCALATION:
2.5 Rates shall be firm throughout the period of contract. Escalation of
rate shall only be admissible in case of the following:
The schedule of rates shall be increased/decreased due to hike in fuel
charges @ Rs.0.12/- per KM for every increase of Rs. 1.0 in petrol &
Rs.0.08 in case of Diesel price per liter on documentary proof. No
increase below Rs.1/-
