<strong>Attitudes</strong> Toward Health <strong>and</strong> Fitness:<br />
A Multivariate Segmentation<br />
Evenly split between men <strong>and</strong> women, members <strong>of</strong> this segment say they<br />
are just too busy to exercise. They know they should, <strong>and</strong> recognize the<br />
benefits <strong>of</strong> exercise, but they say they can’t find the time.<br />
Half do not currently engage in regular physical activity, <strong>and</strong> have no<br />
plans to start (<strong>50</strong>%). However, this segment is most likely to have plans to<br />
start in the next month (24%).<br />
Major reasons don’t exercise:<br />
• Don’t have enough time (76%).<br />
Agree strongly/somewhat with the following statements:<br />
• I should exercise more than I do (95%)<br />
• Hard to find time to exercise regularly (81%)<br />
• I mean to, but never seem to get around to exercising (80%)<br />
• Hard to fit exercise into my life (70%)<br />
• Should exercise more, feel guilty about it when see others exercising<br />
(63%).<br />
