Mission Coalition for Economic Justice & Jobs (MCEJJ) that the neighborhood did not have enough parking to serve its users. Another participant, however, felt that qualifiers needed to be in place in order to avoid creating a suburban character in the neighborhood. The goal was further specified to introduce the concept of parking facilities that would be in keeping with encouraging a pedestrian-oriented character in the neighborhood and the fact that it is well-served by transit. Finally, physical improvements such as planting street trees and installing other pedestrian amenities along streets, particularly along 16 th , 17 th , and 20 th Streets was unanimously agreed upon by the group to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment that would connect the neighborhood to the Mission District. A couple of group members felt that these improvements could be used to create corridors that connected both existing open space and cultural amenities. Final Goals The group did not finalize their goals into main points. Also, with the short amount of time left, the group did not get far in proposing other implementation tools. Many participants were not familiar enough with implementation. However, a suggestion was made to use development bonuses, which would allow developers greater densities in exchange for providing other amenities such as open space. In response to this one member suggested discussing densities, but this did not go further. Finally, tax breaks were suggested, but were not specified as to what types and how they would assist in carrying out their goals. The group was not amenable to improvement districts or parking districts. Appendix A.20
