1. Introduction
1.1 Background
Hartfield Farm, PA2 8UU (NS437579) is located approximately 3.6km Southwest from Paisley in
Renfrewshire. The application site bounds a gently sloping hill, rising from a ground level of approximately
185m above ordnance datum (AOD) in the North with the hillside rising up to a level of approximately
220m AOD in the centre of the site. The site lies in an area of grazing land.

1.2 The Application
The proposal is for the erection of a single mono pole 45.9m high (to blade tip) mast with a 27m blade
diameter. The supporting tower would be painted grey or a colour suitable to the local planning authority.
The proposed turbine location is approximately 866m northwest from the B775 at an elevated position of
approximately 12m to the road. The nearest third party property is approximately 420m from the proposed
turbine location. The reservoir at Caplaw Dam is located approximately 786m to the East of the proposed
turbine location. The electricity produced will be connected to the national grid to allow Scotland to meet
its climate change obligations and meet the government’s renewable energy targets.
