Le Havre Développement also federates the actions of the
Normandy region to favour the development of an offshore
wind cluster.
More than 300 suppliers in upper Normandy have shown
interest in the wind energy sector making the energy sector
the priority of the region in terms of economic development.
Le Havre has been chosen by AREVA and EDF énergies
nouvelles – ALSTOM –DONG ENERGY - WPD to develop
production and logistic activities for their offshore wind
business.
AREVA will produce from 2015 nacelles and blades in Le Havre
while EDF énergies nouvelles – ALSTOM –DONG ENERGY
- WPD will use the infrastructures of the port of Le Havre to
set up a base port for the wind farm of Fécamp (486MW) and
produce their 81 gravity based foundations.
