mean score for the Mini Mental State
Examination (MMSE) was 23
(standard deviation = 5.4) with a
range from 10 to 30. Fifty-nine
percent (n = 40) of the sample scored
24 or greater indicating no cognitive
impairment (CI). Forty-one percent (n
= 28) scored less than 24 indicating
some degree of CI.
