WHEREAS Avon Location 11209 was the subject of<br />

Homestead Farm 12627/74 (Crown Lease 5167/11) :<br />

And whereas it is necessary to resume from the said<br />

location portion thereof (not exceeding one-twentieth of<br />

of the whole) for the purpose of a Quarry (Gravel) :<br />

Now therefore I, the said Governor, with the advice and<br />

consent of the Executive Council, do hereby resume, for<br />

the purpose aforesaid, the portion of Avon Location<br />

11209 hereinafter described:<br />

That portion of late Homestead Farm 12627/74 (Avon<br />

Location 11209), containing 3 acres 2 roods 29 perches,<br />

being the area surveyed and shown on Lands and Surveys<br />

Diagram 48175 as Avon Location 23060, hereafter<br />

to be known and distinguished as Reserve 18281. (Plan<br />

3D/40 South, C4.)<br />

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the<br />

said <strong>State</strong>, at Perth, this 2nd day of May,<br />

WHEREAS by Section 9 of "The Land Act, 1898,"<br />

the Governor may resume, for any of the purposes speci-<br />

,fied in Section 39 of the said Act, any portion of land<br />

held as a Conditional Purchase Lease: And whereas it<br />

is deemed expedient that the portion of Conditional Purchase<br />

Lease 36800/55 (Avon Location 18870), as described<br />

hereunder, should be resumed for one of the<br />

purposes specified in paragraph 6 of Section 39 of the<br />

said Act, that is to say, for School Site: Now therefore<br />

Sir Francis Alexander Newdegate, Governor as aforesaid,<br />

with the advice of the Executive Council, do by<br />

this my Proclamation resume portion of Conditional Purchase<br />

Lease 36800/55 (Avon Location 18870) for the<br />

purpose aforesaid.<br />

of the Most Distinguished Order of<br />

F. A. NEWDEGATE, St. Michael and St. George, Governor<br />

governor. in and over the <strong>State</strong> of Western<br />

Australia and its Dependencies in<br />

[L.s.] the Commonwealth of Australia.<br />

WHEREAS it is enacted by " The Factories and Shops<br />

Act, 1920," that the expression "Public Holiday" shall<br />

mean certain days therein specified and any other day<br />

declared by Proclamation to be a public holiday for the<br />

purposes of the said Act : Now therefore I, the said<br />

Governor, acting by and with the advice and consent of<br />

the Executive Council, acting under the powers contained<br />

in the said Act, and every other power me in<br />

this behalf enabling, do hereby proclaim and declare<br />

that Thursday, the 3rd day of May, 1923, shall be a<br />

public holiday in the Kalgoorlie, Boulder, Brown Hill-<br />

Ivanhoe, and Hannans Shop District (in lieu of Wednesday,<br />

2nd May, as proclaimed in the Gazette on 13th<br />

April, 1923) for the purposes of the said Act, and such<br />

clay shall be observed as a public holiday under every<br />

part of the said Act in which the expression occurs.<br />

said. <strong>State</strong>, at Perth, this 2nd day of May,<br />

WHEREAS by Section 42 of "The Land Act, 1898,"<br />

it is made lawful for the Governor to direct that any<br />

Reserve shall vest in and be held by any Municipality,<br />

Road Board, or other person or persons to be named in<br />

the order, in trust for any of the purposes set forth in<br />

Section 39 of the said Act, or for the like or other public<br />

purposes to be specified in such order: And whereas it<br />

is deemed expedient'that Reserve No. 18167 should vest<br />

in and be held by Messrs. Robert Alfred Sandon, George<br />

Minchin, Sidney Leonard Woods, Cecil Richard Owen
