Pet<strong>ro</strong>sani 2008<br />

The “Geoecologia 2007”<br />

Symposium is a yearly event that<br />

takes place since 1999. It is being<br />

organized by the Faculty of<br />

Mines, affiliated at the University<br />

of Pet<strong>ro</strong>sani. Pet<strong>ro</strong>sani is a<br />

Romanian city situated in an area<br />

with an intense mining activity.<br />

This year was the 4 th time when<br />

members of BSC participated in<br />

this symposium.<br />

The event lasted for three days:<br />

27-29 November 2008. The oral<br />

presentations were divided in 5 sections:<br />

- Geology and Geophysics<br />

- Envi<strong>ro</strong>nmental Engineering<br />

- Mineral Resources P<strong>ro</strong>cessing<br />

- Civil Engineering, Topography, GIS<br />

- Economic Engineering<br />

- Mining Engineering<br />

Giving the structure<br />

of the technical<br />

p<strong>ro</strong>gram, all the<br />

students f<strong>ro</strong>m our<br />

faculty (BSC<br />

members)<br />

participated in one<br />

section, along with<br />

students f<strong>ro</strong>m<br />

Pet<strong>ro</strong>sani, Cluj-<br />

Napoca and Iasi.<br />

The first place was<br />

taken by Florentina<br />

Enea – ex-BSC<br />

president, the second<br />

was taken by a<br />

student f<strong>ro</strong>m Cluj-<br />

Napoca and the third<br />

place was taken by another student of ours, Christian Stanciu. Of course, all the other<br />

presentations were very good and p<strong>ro</strong>fessional as well.<br />
