1. Introduction The <strong>Bucharest</strong> <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Chapter</strong> of AAPG is a student association with scientific profile, affiliated to the University of <strong>Bucharest</strong>, Faculty of Geology and Geophysics. Its activities are performed under the name of the AAPG and its intern organization is according to the AAPG Bylaws for student chapters. The BSC activities are supervised by our faculty officials and guarantied to the AAPG by our Faculty Advisor, Prof. Dr. Nicolae Anastasiu and our Faculty Co-Sponsor, Prof. Dr. Ovidiu Dragastan. As a more detailed description of BSC, in our faculty we have three student chapters (AAPG, SEG and EAGE), however, they are mostly formed by the same group of people, gathered under the name of <strong>Bucharest</strong> <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Chapter</strong> of AAPG (BSC of AAPG). We keep this name because we started off as an AAPG chapter and because the main structure of the BSC is according to the AAPG bylaws for student chapters. The only difference is that BSC now has two specialized divisions which represent the SEG and the EAGE. Even though the project and the activities are made by collaboration of all three chapters, the main recognition of BSC inside our faculty remains as an AAPG chapter (being mostly directed to the younger students), the <strong>geo</strong>physical and the engineering working groups being concentrated on more professional activities. The three chapters also have different officers and different faculty advisors. This year of activity started on the 1st of July 2008. Until 1st of October 2008, the day that marked the beginning of the academic year, our activity was focused on projects and collaborations. After that, our main concerns were the meetings with the sessions of presentations, the field applications for students, the organization of the new <strong>Bucharest</strong> <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Chapter</strong> Library and the preparing of the papers for the 10 th Symposium of The Romanian <strong>Student</strong> Geologists. This year of activity ended on the 30th of June 2008.
