Tumour Therapy Tumour Therapy without Pain F E A T U R I N G T H E B E S T O F G E R M A N M E D I C I N E معاجلة الورم معاجلة الأ ورام اخلبيثة بدون اأمل European Cyberknife Centre in Munich Since July 2005 it has been possible to receive patientfriendly tumour treatment in Munich with robot technology and precision irradiation: the Cyberknife Centre, the health insurance AOK Bavaria and the Munich University Clinic (Neurosurgical Clinic and Institute for Clinical Radiology) are currently cooperatively establishing the European Cyberknife Centre Großhadern, located right at the Großhadern Clinic. It is the first institute of this kind in Germany; four of them exist in Europe. The Cyberknife radio-surgery helps to neutralize tumours in the head, the brain, the spine and the spinal cord in a gentle and effective manner. For patients, the cyberknife treatment is free of pain, it does not cause them any trouble, can be carried out on an out-patient basis and generaally does not require more than one single appointment of a few hours. The patient’s inability to work is restricted to only one day, his quality of life is not impaired and no costs are incurred for a hospital stay, follow-up treatment or rehabilittation measures. The estimated number of patients amounts to about 400 patients per year. The Cyberknife system is the cuttting-edge technology currently available for radio-surgical treatmment. It unites digital imagecontrolled robot technology with a high-precision irradiation device. Treatable diseases The Munich-based Cyberknife system is mainly designed to treat head, brain, spine and spinal cord tumours. In general, however, all tumours occurrring in the body that meet the relatively strict indication criteria for radio-surgery can be treated with the cyberknife system. Thus, the tumours to be treated must not be too big in size and must show clear dimensions. Which diseases can be treated with the Cyberkknife, is explained in a detailed discussion with the responsible physicians. Radiosurgery and the technnical functionality of the CyberknifeTM The Cyberknife radiosurgery is a method of the frameless precision radiation. It can be carried out as a treatment of certain patients as an alternattive or addition to open surggery or a radiotherapy lasting several weeks. The procedure entails several highly energetic rays from different directions outside the body to be directed towards a target inside the body in order to achieve a tumour-destroying effect in this area through the concentration of the radiation. None of the individual incoming rays can cause a damage since they are simply too weak for that. مركز ‏سايربنايف Cyberknife الأ وربي يف مدينة ميونخ.‏ اأصبح من املمكن يف ميونخ و منذ ‏شهر يوليوز ‏سنة ٢٠٠٥ معاجلة ودودة للمرضى املصابون بالورم عن طريق تقنية الربوط و الشعاع الدقيق:‏ لقد تضامن مركز ‏سايربنايف Cyberknife و موؤسسه التاأمني الصحي AOK بفاريا مع املستشفى اجلامعي مبيونخ ‏)مستشفى جراحة الأ عصاب و مركز مستشفى علم الأ ‏شعة(‏ لإ نشاء مركز ،Cyberknife الذي يوجد حالياً‏ يف اجلهة اليمنى من مستشفى غروس هادرن.‏ اإنه اأول مركز من هذا النوع يف اأملانيا،‏ واإنه حيث ل يوجد اإل اأربعة من هذا النوع من املراكز يف كل اأوربا.‏ اإن اجلراحة الإ ‏شعاعية Cyberknife قد تساعد يف القضاء على ورم الراأس و الدماغ و السيساء الصلب وكذلك على ورم احلبل النخاعي بطريقة فعالة و لطيفة.‏ اأما فيما يخص املرضى فاإن هذاالنوع من العالج،‏ Cyberknife ل يسبب اي اأمل،‏ و ل يثري اأي اإرهاق،‏ كما اأنه ل يستدعي التنومي يف املستشفى.‏ و عادة فاإن العالج ل يستدعي اكرث من جلسة واحدة،‏ حيث ل يطول وقت العالج اإل ‏ساعات قليلة.‏ وبهذا فاإن عجز املريض عن العمل قد يكون حمدود ليوم واحد فقط،‏ كما اأن جودة حياته لن تتاأثر.‏ بالإ ‏ضافة اىل هذا،‏ فاإن تكاليف البقاء يف املستشفي اأو استئناف املعاجلة وتكاليف اعادة التاأهيل يتم توفريها.‏ يقدر عدد املرضى بحوايل ٤٠٠ مريض يف السنة.‏ اإن نظام Cyberknife هو عبارة عن تقنية احلافة القاطعة بالعالج عن طريق اجلراحة الإ ‏شعاعية و مبساعدة تكنولوجية الربوط التي تضئ ‏صُ‏ ور رقميّة يتم ‏ضبطها باآلت الأ ‏شعة عالية الدقة.‏ الأ مراض التي ميكن معاجلتها:‏ يستعمل نظام Cyberknife املوجود مبدينة ميونخ غالباً‏ لعالج ورم الراأس او ورم الدماغ كما و يستخدم اأيضاً‏ لعالج ورم السيساء الصلب و اأورام احلبل النخاعي.‏ لكن حني توجد اأدلة قويه و واضحه نسبياً‏ للجراحة الإ ‏شعاعية،‏ ميكن عالج كل الأ ورام املوجودة يف اجلسم بنظام .Cyberknife الأ ورام التي ميكن عالجها يجب اأن ل تكون كبرية احلجم،‏ كما يجب اأن تظهر مقياس بارز و واضح.‏ هذه هي الأ مراض التي يتم عالجها ب Cyberknife كما يقول الأ طباء املضوؤولني بدقة.‏ اجلراحة الإشعاعية و العمل التقني ل :Cyberknife اإن اجلراحة الإ ‏شعاعية ب Cyberknife هي طريقة جراحيه خفيفة تتم عن طريق الشعة.‏ ميكن اأن تستعمل هذه اجلراحة لعالج بعض املرضى مبثابة بديل اأو بالإ ‏ضافة اىل اجلراحة املفتوحة اأو مع املعاجلة الإ ‏شعاعية التي تستمر اأسابيع متعددة.‏ تتطلب هذه الطريقة عادة اأشعة ذات طاقة عالية تُرسل 33 33
