Main reactions show that heat is required during the reduction process. Thus, the<br />

temperature of the gas goes down during this stage. If complete gasification occurs, all<br />

the carbon is burned or reduced to carbon monoxi<strong>de</strong>, and some other mineral matter<br />

that is vaporized. The remains are ash and some char (unburned carbon). Other<br />

reactions occur during the gasification process, such as: C + CO 2 = 2CO and<br />

CH 4 + H 2 O = CO + 3H 2 .<br />
