Patshahi Chhevin.<br />

Besides above there are several Gurdwaras ofsignificant historical<br />

importance at Aimnabad, Kasur, Sialkot, Multan, Pak Pattan, Okara,<br />

Quetta, Larkana, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Hafizabad, Dera Ismaeil Khan<br />

etc.<br />

b) Gurdwaras in India:<br />

India though considerably reduced in size, as a result ofpartition in<br />

1947, is still a very vast country. As our revered Gurus, particularly<br />

Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Hargobind Sahib, Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib<br />

and Guru Gobind Singh too, traveled far and wide, several important<br />

Gurdwaras have been established at the places those were visited or<br />

even touched by them. Then several important centers of Gursikhi<br />

were established during the physical span ofthe Gurus, those continue<br />

to have the gravitational pulls for the Sikhs across the globe. Several<br />

Gurdwaras have also been established at different places associated<br />

with the Gurus' loving Sikhs, commemorating their names and the<br />

deeds performed by them.<br />

Again whereas it is viltually not possible to count and enlist all<br />

such Gurdwaras, at this place, an attempt is being made to give below<br />

a list ofsome very important Gurdwaras those are there in this part of<br />

India.<br />

i) Gurdwaras in Punjab:<br />

Amritsar<br />

Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple): Our most important<br />

pilgrimage center. Built in a very congenial and serene atmosphere<br />

within a Sarovar (Water Pool). Surrounded by water on the three sides<br />

and the fourth one connected with the land, that enables Gursikhs and<br />

athers including tourists to have a glimpse ofthe 'Guru Asthaan'. The<br />

work at the sarovar was initiated and completed by Guru Ram Dass<br />

Sahib and the Harimandir was built by the fifth Guru, Guru AIjan Dev<br />

Sahib. It has also been mentioned by some historians that even Guru<br />
