Town Manager Kenneth D. Boehner showed a<br />
map of the area in question. He also said that probably<br />
no more than three trees would have to be removed.<br />
The entrance to the proposed parking lot<br />
would be through Brown Avenue and the exit on<br />
High Street. It is the intent of the Selectmen to sell<br />
the house and lot included in the Swain property.<br />
An estimate of Sale Price is approximately $13,000<br />
which would reduce the cost of the parking lot by<br />
nearly<br />
one-half.<br />
Mr. David Colt said that the cost of making the<br />
Parking Lot might be at least $1,500 in addition to<br />
the $26,300.<br />
Mr. John Mahon asked if the figure of $13,000<br />
estimated price to be received for the house and lot<br />
could be added to the "estimated revenue" in the<br />
Town Budget.<br />
Mr. Boehner replied that if the house was sold<br />
before the figures were sent in for the tax rate, that<br />
the Tax Commission would include that amount in<br />
"Sale of Town Property." If not sold before the<br />
tax rate is<br />
set — the Budget cannot be changed.<br />
Mr. Mahon asked if<br />
the $13,000 figure could be<br />
legally be added to "Estimated Revenue" instead of<br />
"Sale of Town Property." Town Counsel John W.<br />
Perkins said that Articles 1 and 2 are legally correct.<br />
The result of the meeting and sale of property<br />
will be reported to the Tax Commission who will<br />
take all facts into consideration in determining the<br />
Tax Rate for <strong>1963</strong>.<br />
Town Counsel ruled against an amendment by<br />
Mr. Mahon. Selectman Lawrence Hackett said that<br />
the Budget had been set and approved. It is the
