ELAN g! celebrates first anniversary with KNX compatibility &
introduction of chinese character support
ELAN® Home Systems, Stand 1N73 is now a member of the
KNX Association, which maintains the worldwide standard
for all applications in home and building control. At the same
time, the industry-leading ELAN g! Entertainment and Control
System is now compatible with KNX Certified lighting, climate,
shade, and input/output devices. What’s more, ELAN g! now
features a full 5,800 simplified Mandarin Chinese character
set across all TS touch screens, HR2 remote control, computer
interface, on-screen display, iPhone, and iPad user interfaces.
With the addition of Chinese, the ELAN g! Entertainment
and Control system now supports a total of seven languages:
English, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, and Swedish.

announces OMNEO media
networking architecture at
ISE 2012
New range of in-wall lighting
control from Crestron
Bosch Security Systems will announce OMNEO, its media
networking architecture at ISE 2012. OMNEO is comprised
of two components: program transport and system control for
professional media networking applications.
OMNEO networks operate over standard Ethernet
networks, and will be fully compliant with emerging standards.
The system has an audio program transport protocol suite that
offers low-latency, high-quality multichannel audio stream
exchange. OMNEO also has a robust control protocol suite
that provides reliable and secure system control for pro media
networks of all sizes, from small to intercontinental.
The system control component is called OCA, for Open
Control Architecture. It includes many features for flexibility,
reliability, security, and compatible growth over the years.

Crestron’s CLWI range is a new series of products
that make the perfect retrofit lighting control
solution and will be on show at ISE 2012. Designed
for the European residential market, the range is
ideal for electricians and installers looking to make
their first move into lighting control installations.
Featuring a range of in-wall dimmers and
keypads, the CLWI range is easy to install and
offers programming-free set-up to ensure a
stress-free installation. When attached to a
Crestron network it also functions as a keypad,
sending commands to trigger whole-room lighting
scenes or distributed audio functions.
Supporting up to six buttons, the in-wall
dimmer or switch serves as user control
interface in any Crestron system. Its single-box
form maximises control in a small space while
increasing the opportunity for multi-room Crestron
control. Also available are aesthetically matched
standalone keypads which use Cresnet or infiNET
EX wireless communications.
