Proven Presentation Techniques: How to
create interest, enhance retention, and
captivate your audience
Thomas Zangerle, GSA
This workshop will show you how you can
transform your ideas into convincing
interactive presentations. The most important
elements of successful presentations,
training sessions and meetings are
straightforward to name, but not always quite
so easy to implement. It's essential for the
presenter to capture and maintain the
attention of the audience, to present
effectively, create interest, encourage
excitement and to captivate the participants.
In this training session we will explore how
you can increase understanding and retention
in a presentation. You will receive background
information based on scientific research,
about improving communication techniques
and about the workings of the brain. You will
also see examples of best practices, effective
communication, and presentation designs, all
of which contribute to the creation of longlasting
impressions.
AV Streaming
Edgard Naim, CTS-D
This AV Streaming course is an introductory
course which provides you with a fundamental
understanding real-time transmission of AV
signals over IP networks. The delivery of
collaborative, real-time audio, video and
computer graphic content across IP networks
requires that a number of specific technical
challenges are fulfilled to support effective
visual communication requirements.
Unusual Display Applications
Robert Simpson
This talk is complementary to the Technology
trends in high resolution displays talk being
given to the Future Trends Summit, but stands
alone and does not assume attendance at the
earlier talk. The idea here is to present
progress in the unusual aspects of electronic
image presentation. Some of the subjects
covered include simulation, autostereoscopic
displays, true 3D without glasses, media
facades, spectacular staging, volumetric
displays, micro-displays, high contrast
displays, and unconventional projection
surfaces. Part of the presentation will present
an historical perspective showing how the
presentation of large projected images has
progressed over the years.
The Secret of a Good Sound System Design
Janko Ramuscak
The presentation aims to unveil some of the
myths around sound system design. Proper
direct sound management is no secret, but a
key factor in creating a well-behaved solution.
The session will show some simple to
understand techniques and examples.
User Adoption Challenges: Finding Solutions
for Advanced AV & Conferencing
Technologies
Todd Hutchins
The evolution of pro-AV has never been more
evident, or accelerated, than over the past
several years. This session addresses
challenges users and technology managers
face in adopting some of the most recent
advancements. Gleaned from client help desk
calls, we will discuss common challenges and
errors including those found in analogue to
digital conversion, networked AV &
conferencing, digital media transport and
adopting touch panel-alternative user
interfaces. We will then highlight real-world
solutions to give users the confidence and
technical knowledge they need to navigate
this new terrain.
Andr Jensen, ISF-C
Audience members will be treated to an indepth
introduction to today's stereoscopic 3D
visualization technologies and will explore a
wide range of real life installation examples
and benefits for end users. Highlights of the
education session include a history of 3-D,
active versus passive stereoscopic imaging,
enabling technologies such as Shutter
glasses, DLP Link, Passive and Active Stereo.
Development
Steven Keith Platt
The challenges associated with the creation
and management of highly targeted
messages, at a reasonable cost, in broadcast
quality video, will be discussed. This challenge
can only be solved via automated, expert
driven content creation tools. In this session,
attendees will learn about advancements in
the management and automated generation
Global Sustainability Standards and the
Audiovisual Perspective
Joseph Bocchiaro III
This course is intended for the audiovisual
business professional involved in design,
sales, and technical operations. Standards
are rapidly evolving in the area of valid
sustainability and energy programs. How will
they affect your business? What trends should
you be aware of? How can you harness the
concepts of smart buildings, sustainable
events, and rating systems to partner with
your clients in new ways? Learn how
audiovisual and IT technologies are being
used in new ways that go beyond the
traditional notion of AV.
Projection Mapping
Tim Brooksbank
Edge blending is often used to create large
bright images from several projectors.
Traditionally it suffers from loss of quality and
complex set-up issues related to the
mechanical alignment of the images from
each projector. By use of electronic image
warping to bend the images from each
projector to the correct shape, multiple
projectors can be easily aligned even on
surfaces which are not flat. This presentation
will explain the process used to achieve
alignment in a real-world install.
