The technical design for a high performance
Home Cinema is not a subjective decision. For
every parameter, there is a standard that
should be observed in order to offer a truly
immersive entertainment experience. This
course will examine those standards and give
you an insight into the importance of designing
cinemas using standards based engineering
calculations rather than subjective
guesswork. The morning will be classroom
based where the instructor will introduce the
standards and the engineering skills
necessary to apply them. The afternoon will
be spent working in small groups applying the
knowledge gained in the morning. During the
afternoon workshop, a number of additional
subject matter experts will be on hand to
spend time with individual groups to help with
the design. By the end of this course, delegates
will understand how applying engineering
standards to cinema design ensures a high
standard of repeatable performance.

foundation for understanding IP (Internet
Protocol). It is appropriate for both beginners
and individuals looking to formalize and
increase their IP networking knowledge base.
With the vast majority of subsystems now
having the ability to be converged over an IP
network, this is arguably the most important
topic to make sure that you have a solid
foundation in. At the conclusion of this course,
participants should be able to: Discuss the
advantages and importance of the growth in
IP networking; Explain common network
protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, DHCP, DNS,
and NAT; Select, install, and configure
consumer routers for wired environments;
Create and implement IP addressing schemes
for connected network devices (computers,
AV, lighting control, etc.); Create system
documentation for IP networks.

The Art of Project Documentation

Possibly the most important element in the
smooth running of any project is the quality of
the prepared documentation. This includes
the bill of materials (the quote), functional
(architectural) specification, cable schedules,
schematic drawings, plan drawings and detail
drawings. This course will teach you how to
use documentation to ensure great project
communication. We will be giving you practical
tips on how to layout the documents as well as
going through proper revision management.
All delegates will be given a CD with sample
drawings and documentation.
