Time Limit for Correspondence RAM CH A10. 5 defines the timelines when a Passenger or Cargo correspondence can be initiated or responded to in SIS RAM A13. 4.5 is for Miscellaneous correspondence These timelines are enforced in SIS. If a carrier does not respond within these time lines then SIS expires the correspondence and the member is unable to re-open it ISW2: SIS and RAM Rules 76
Extension for Correspondence? For Correspondence SIS does not permit extension of time limit Workaround: If both carriers agree – settle the dispute via email and the resulting billing memo can be raised in SIS using a reason code both parties agrees to. Note - Complete audit trail for the transaction will be missing in SIS ISW2: SIS and RAM Rules 77
