Das Streben der internationalen Prägeanstalten<br />
gilt der Herstellung von Münzen, die das Interesse<br />
von Sammlern auf der ganzen Welt wecken sollen.<br />
Auch <strong>2014</strong> ist ein Teil ihrer Neuausgaben besonderen<br />
Ereignissen und Jahrestagen gewidmet. Motive<br />
und Gestaltung der Münzen, die verwendeten<br />
Metalle und Herstellungsverfahren, Verpackung<br />
und Marketing – all diese Faktoren, mit Bedacht<br />
kombiniert, tragen dazu bei Ergebnisse zu erzielen,<br />
mit denen Sammler, Prägestätten und die<br />
vielen anderen am Münzenmarkt Beteiligten<br />
vollauf zufrieden sein können. Das MDC Marketing<br />
Committee beschäftigt sich mit diesen<br />
und anderen Themen, die bei der Schaffung von<br />
attraktiven, zeitgemäßen Münzprogrammen von<br />
Bedeutung sind.<br />
Im Namen der Mitglieder des Komitees der Mint<br />
Directors Conference heiße ich alle Teilnehmer der<br />
World <strong>Money</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> <strong>2014</strong> ganz herzlich willkommen.<br />
Ich hoffe, dass diese Veranstaltung, unabhängig<br />
davon welche Rolle jeder Einzelne dabei spielt, uns<br />
alle erneut bestärkt in unserer Leidenschaft für<br />
eines der ältesten und angesehensten Zahlungsmittel<br />
der Welt – Münzen.<br />
Aktuell bereitet das Komitee die nächste Mint<br />
Directors Conference vor, die im Mai <strong>2014</strong> in Mexiko<br />
City stattfindet. Die Tagung wartet mit einem<br />
kompakten Programm und interessanten Referenten<br />
auf. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf anregende<br />
Diskussionen und neue, inspirierende Ideen.<br />
In <strong>2014</strong> special occasions and notable anniversaries<br />
will be part of the new issues by global<br />
mints, which strive to create coins that will spark<br />
the interest of collectors the world over. The<br />
themes, the designs, the metals and production<br />
techniques employed, the packaging and<br />
marketing – just some of the factors that are<br />
always important elements, when carefully<br />
combined, to generate truly satisfying results<br />
for collectors, the issuing mints and the many<br />
other stakeholders in the minting business.<br />
The MDC Marketing Committee continues to<br />
address these and other important issues with<br />
the view to producing desirable modern coin<br />
programs.<br />
On behalf of the members of the MDC<br />
Committee I would like to join in extending a<br />
sincere welcome to all participants in the <strong>2014</strong><br />
edition of the World <strong>Money</strong> <strong>Fair</strong>. Regardless of<br />
the role each of us plays, may we all come away<br />
from this event with renewed enthusiasm for<br />
one of the world’s oldest and most respected<br />
forms of currency, coins.<br />
As we look ahead, Committee preparations are<br />
well in hand for the Mint Directors’ Conference<br />
in Mexico City, May <strong>2014</strong>. With this venue, a solid<br />
agenda and an interesting group of speakers we<br />
look forward to productive discussions and the<br />
generation of inspiring ideas.<br />
