It gives me great pleasure to return to Berlin for
the 43rd World Money Fair to meet with you, our
valued customers and friends.
This year’s event is particularly special for us. The
fair always provides a fantastic opportunity to
unveil our new coin designs for the coming year,
but this year we also bring you the largest gold
coin in the world!
For the first time, the Australian Kangaroo One
Tonne Coin has left its vault at The Perth Mint to
travel on a road show through Europe. Accredited
by Guinness World Records, it is the biggest and
heaviest gold coin ever created. Weighing one
tonne of 99.99% pure gold and measuring 80
centimetres in diameter, it is really something to
see.

When we return home to Perth in Western
Australia, the one tonne coin will become the
highlight attraction of the new Gold Exhibition
which will open at The Perth Mint. It will be the
centrepiece amid a multi-media extravaganza
which will take visitors on a journey through the
history of gold in Australia.
To celebrate the appearance of the one tonne
coin at the World Money Fair, The Perth Mint will
release a limited edition 2014 Australian Kangaroo
25th Anniversary 1oz Gold Coin, replicating the
design of its supersized companion.
