Asexually propagated plants were grown on raised beds in<br />
full sunlight under standard commercial strawberry<br />
production conditions.<br />
Trial Design Asexually propagated plants from stolons of<br />
‘DrisStrawEleven’, ‘Driscoll Lanai’ and ‘San Juan’ were<br />
transplanted into adjacent raised beds in Monterey County<br />
California USA. These plants were grown in full sunlight<br />
under standard commercial strawberry production conditions<br />
each year for 5 years,<br />
Measurements Observations and measurements were taken and a detailed<br />
description prepared for the new variety ‘DrisStrawEleven’ in<br />
accordance with UPOV Guidelines and terminology. Colours<br />
are described and the most similar colour designations are<br />
provided from The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Charts<br />
(RHS).<br />

Origin and Breeding<br />
Controlled pollination: The new variety ‘DrisStrawEleven’ originated as a result of a<br />
crossing between the proprietary breeding line ‘122J81’ (unpatented female parent)<br />
and the proprietary breeding line ‘111H69’ (unpatented pollen parent)and was<br />
discovered as a seedling in 2004 in Monterey County, California USA. After five<br />
successive generations plants remained true to type. Breeders: Bruce D Mowrey,<br />
JoAnne F Cross, Martin P Madesko, Philip J Stewart, Matthew P Wilson and Michael<br />
D Ferguson - all employees of Driscoll Strawberry Associates Inc. Watsonville,<br />
California USA.<br />
