APPENDIX 3 - INDEX OF ACCREDITED CONSULTANT ‘QUALIFIED PERSONS’
The following persons have been accredited by the PBR office based on information provided by these persons. From
the information provided by the applicants, the PBR office believes that these people can fulfil the role of ‘qualified
person’ in the application for plant breeder’s rights. Neither accreditation nor publication of a name in the list of persons
is an implicit recommendation of the person so listed. The PBR office cannot be held liable for damages that may arise
from the omission or inclusion of a person’s name in the list nor does it assume any responsibility for losses or damages
arising from agreements entered into between applicants and any person in the list of accredited persons. Qualified
persons charge a fee for services rendered.
A guide to the use of the index of consultants:
• locate in the left column of Table 1 the plant group for which you are applying;
• listed in the right column are the names of accredited qualified persons from which you can choose a consultant;
• in Table 2 find that consultant’s name, telephone number and area in which they are willing to consult (they may
consult outside the nominated area);
• using the “Nomination of Qualified Person” form as a guide, agree provisionally on the scope and terms of the
consultancy; complete the form and attach it to Part 1 of the application form;
• when you are notified that your nomination of a consultant qualified person is acceptable in the letter of acceptance
of your application for PBR you should again consult the qualified person when planning the rest of the application
for PBR.
