What’s so special about TEXAPORE SOFT<br />
SHELL? TEXAPORE SOFT SHELL is a 3-layer<br />
laminate with all the attributes of a softshell<br />
fabric; it is also waterproof.<br />
Waterproof softshells have been around for<br />
a while, though, haven’t they? That’s correct<br />
up to a point. There were waterproof<br />
softshell fabrics, sure; for example, our<br />
STORMLOCK SOFTSHELL HYPROOF. But<br />
the seams were never totally water proof.<br />
And now they are? What changes have you<br />
made? That’s the key point. TEXAPORE<br />
SOFTSHELL has a jersey reverse side that<br />
will take a special seam sealing tape. This<br />
means we can seal the seams and make<br />
them fully waterproof.<br />
You said that TEXAPORE SOFTSHELL has all<br />
the attributes of a normal softshell fabric.<br />
What are they? We were one of the first<br />
outdoor manufacturers to make softshells.<br />
And the development has been<br />
continuous right up to the present day.<br />
Softshells are characterised by their high<br />
levels of stretch comfort and breathability.<br />
They also allow excellent free dom<br />
of movement. Up to now they have only<br />
provided a minimum level of weather<br />
protection but with TEXAPORE SOFT-<br />
SHELL this is no longer the case; now we<br />
have the best of both worlds.<br />
What does this mean for the user? Previously<br />
you’ve always had to take a softshell<br />
and a hardshell with you – the<br />
softshell as a light, windproof (or wind<br />
resistant) and breathable layer and the<br />
hardshell in case the weather turns bad.<br />
With TEXAPORE SOFTSHELL you only<br />
need one jacket. That means you save<br />
weight and can keep the jacket on the<br />
whole time you’re out.<br />
