In our summer apparel the system zip is available
in three lengths: short (SHORT SYSTEM ZIP),
normal (REGULAR SYSTEM ZIP) and a special
version for our children’s jackets (KIDS SYS­
TEM ZIP).
Our system zip allows seamless combination of
a fleece jacket with a waterproof TEXAPORE
shell jacket or softshell. The fleece can then be
used as an inner jacket. The front zip of the
inner jacket docks with the second zip on the
shell jacket; attachment loops on the cuffs and
neck prevent the jackets from bunching or slipping.
The system zip has remained unchanged
for ten years and will stay that way in the future.
This means that you will continue to be able to
combine new jackets with older models.
TAFFETA LINING: A light, soft and quick drying lining
fabric made from silky­smooth taffeta.
TECNOPILE MICRO: A very light, high quality 100 microfleece
with a velour structure, used to make our all­time
classic GECKO fleece pullover. The level of insulation makes
it highly versatile and it also has a small pack size. It bears
the label “bluesign® approved fabric”.
TENCEL: A sustainable, biodegradable fabric made from
Lyocell. The Lyocell fibres are derived from wood. They
absorb moisture well, promote thermal regulation and are
kind to the skin. They also have anti­static properties. The
fabric also has natural properties that inhibit the growth
of odour­causing bacteria. We use Lyocell in combination
with other fibres such as organic cotton and/or polyester.
TEXAPORE (footwear): Our waterproof footwear models
are equipped with a membrane in a bootie construction.
This envelops the foot from the sole to around 2/3 of
the height of the uppers. The TEXAPORE membrane consists
of four layers: a mesh support fabric, the membrane
itself, a mid­layer fabric (backlining) and a lining fabric.
The different versions of TEXAPORE used, TEXAPORE O 2
and TEXAPORE O 3, differ in terms of the performance of the
membrane, i.e. its moisture vapour porosity (breathabil ity).
TEXAPORE:
­ waterproof
­ highly breathable
TEXAPORE O 2 +:
­ waterproof
­ exceptionally highly breathable
THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE: TPU is a special
type of polyurethane with many useful properties. It is
exceptionally tough and abrasion resistant and has good
elasticity. We use this material in our footwear, for the
soles, stabilising components and smaller components.
TPU: We use thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) for midsoles,
toe and heel caps and for coatings. PU is durably
elastic, retains its shape, has shock absorbing properties
and is very light and hard wearing.
TRAIL ADVANCE: A light, multifunctional hiking sole that
bridges the gap between hiking and trekking footwear;
suitable for paved surfaces, trails and rough terrain). The
sole is available in different gender­specific versions for
men and women. Both versions consist of the following
components:
1. outsole made of abrasion­resistant, shape­retentive
rubber with a 3­4 mm tread for excellent grip
2. lightweight EVA midsole for good shock absorption
3. 2 mm PE insole for waterproof models; Texon insole
for shoes without a membrane
4. perforated EVA footbed with moisture regulating polyester
covering fabric
TRAIL LIGHTNING: Extremely light and comfortable sole
for running and walking on trails or firm surfaces. It consists
of the following components:
1. flat, light and comfortable rubber outsole with various
tread zones
2. mesh­structure footbed in recycled PU for good ventilation
and superior walking comfort
3. midsole with greater firmness at the heel (for better
stability and good roll­off performance) and full­length
soft EVA (for cushioning)
4. insert at shank/arch area for better stability and motion
control
5. stabilising insole
TRAILLOCK: A flexible and comfortable hiking sole for
easy terrain and trails. It consists of four components:
1. rubber outsole with anti­slip tread
2. flexible and cushioning EVA midsole
3. 2 mm thick PE insole
4. EVA footbed with moisture regulating polyester covering
fabric.
ULTRA LIGHT HOOD: This fixed hood with integrated
visor is frequently used on our lighter children’s jackets.
The volume and field of vision are separately adjustable.
UV SHIELD: UV protective fabrics provide higher levels
of protection than classic cotton T shirts and tops. The UV
protection factor is given in accordance with the Australian/
New Zealand standard for sun protective clothing (AS/NZS
4399: 1996).
VIBRAM ANANASI: Sporty hiking sole, ideal for fast &
light hiking off the beaten path. It has three components:
1. rubber outsole with full­length tread for good traction
and braking performance on various types of terrain
2. EVA midsole for cushioning and excellent roll­off performance
3. EVA footbed with moisture regulating polyester covering
fabric
VIBRAM QUADRO ZONIC: This technical alpine and
trekking sole was developed in collaboration with the
sole specialists VIBRAM for demanding mountain hikes,
via fer rata and treks. It consist of five components:
1. robust rubber outsole
2. lightweight PU midsole
3. PU shock absorbers in heel and forefoot
4. extremely firm nylon insole for rigidity
5. cushioning and ventilated felt footbed
The special feature is the outsole, which has four special
zones: STABILITY ZONE (for high stability), GRIP ZONE (for
outstanding traction), BRAKE ZONE (for anti­slip braking)
and ROCK ZONE at the toe (for climbing precision).
VIBRAM MOUNTAIN TREK: A torsion­resistant trekking
sole for trips with a heavy pack on medium to difficult
terrain, developed in collaboration with the sole specialists
VIBRAM. The main focus here is on cushioning and
grip. It consists of four components:
1. abrasion resistant rubber outsole with specially shaped
tread blocks.
2. EVA midsole for comfortable cushioning
3. stabilising insole (with different degrees of flexibility
specific to each model)
4. removable, anatomically shaped cushioning footbed
VIBRAM SKYRUNNING: Very light and grippy sole for
approach shoes and leisure shoes, consisting of three components:
1. anti­slip, abrasion resistant rubber outsole with special
flex zones and EVA sections for lightness and flexibility
2. extra lightweight cushioning EVA midsole
3. removable felt footbed with moisture regulating polyester
covering fabric
