DELRIN: A temperature resistant thermoplastic used to
make the frame components of our classic ACS suspension
system.
FACE OFF 400D: Robust polyamide fabric with extra thick
PU coating, used for travel luggage, etc. A special dyeing
process gives it an interesting two-tone appearance.
FIBERCLOUD HT: A loose synthetic fibre fill material (fill
power: 500 cuin) that is packed into fill chambers like
down. It offers an insulation performance similar to that of
down but is insensitive to moisture and easier to look after.
FLEX SHIELD SOFTSHELL: These bi-elastic (two-way
stretch), very robust softshell fabrics are wind resistant,
durably water resistant and extremely breathable. The
fine loop structure of the reverse side ensures good air
circulation and balanced thermal regulation.
FLEXSHIELD XT: Bi-elastic, very hard wearing and waterproof
fabric with smooth finish. We use it for the
stretch inserts on our rucksacks.
FLEX TWILL 140D: Robust bi-elastic fabric used for
rucksacks.
FULL DULL 70D: A light polyamide fabric used for document
belts, etc.
FULL DULL 600D: A robust fabric with a barathea-like
feel; 50 % consists of recycled plastic bottles. We use it for
the rucksacks and bags in our VINTAGE series.
FUNCTION 65: Our classic wind and water resistant
func tional fabric. The name is derived from the blend of
fabrics of which it is comprised. The original version consists
of 65 % polyester (for durability and fast drying performance)
and 35 % cotton (for wear comfort). We now use
only cotton sourced from certified organic producers. The
polyester/cotton mix ratio varies depending on the version
of the fabric.
FUNCTION 65 is a classic functional fabric.
The 65 % polyester content makes the fabric
robust and fast drying; 35 % cotton gives
superior wear comfort.
- FUNCTION 65 NATURE CANVAS: Robust fabric with
a rugged canvas weave.
- FUNCTION 65 ORGANIC: This hybrid fabric consists
of 35 % organic cotton and is used, for example, for
jackets and trekking pants.
- FUNCTION 65 ORGANIC EVO: The newer version of
the fabric has a reverse side with an even more pleasant
texture.
- FUNCTION 65 SOFTSHELL: The softshell version
(77 % polyester, 23 % organic cotton) has specially textured
yarns that provide mechanical stretch performance.
GRAVEL PASS: A robust and sturdy sandal sole that is
also suitable for easy hikes. It consists of:
1. durable rubber outsole for good grip on demanding
terrain
2. cushioning midsole
3. “shock pad” cushioning component in the heel
4. reinforcement at shank/ arch area for improved stability
during strike and roll-off phases
HDPE: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a very tough
yet flexible, cold and heat resistant plastic used in our rucksack
suspension systems (e.g. for the flexible back plates).
HELMET BASIC HOOD (FIXED): The hood is permanently
attached to the collar of the jacket, anatomically
shaped and can be adjusted with one hand. The volume
and field of vision are individually adjustable. It has enough
room to accommodate a (climbing) helmet.
HELMET INTEGRAL HOOD: A fixed hood with an integrated,
reinforced visor and enough room to accommodate
a (climbing) helmet. The volume and field of vision
are adjustable. A third, vertical adjustment option at the
back of the head allows the volume to be reduced when
a helmet is not worn.
HUCKLEBERRY: A flexible, lightweight sole used for children’s
sandals, consisting of the following components:
1. anti-slip rubber outsole for a secure grip
2. shock pads for enhanced wear comfort
3. lightweight insole
4. soft, waterproof EVA footbed with antibacterial function
(inhibits the formation of odour-causing bacteria)
HYDROFILM NYLON 70D: The flexible coating and extra
dense weave render this polyamide fabric incredibly robust
and durably waterproof. We use it as a groundsheet fabric
for lightweight tents designed for extreme use.
HYDROFILM POLYESTER: Abrasion resistant, waterproof
coated polyester fabric used for tent groundsheets (hydrostatic
head: 10,000 mm when new).
HYDROFILM SILICONIZED NYLON 40D: Ultralight
groundsheet fabric. The fabric has a ripstop construction
with a silicone coating on the outside and a PU coating on
the inside. The seams are sealed for waterproofness.
Weight: 71 g/m 2 .
INSECT REPELLENT: Integrated insect repellent VITAL
PROTECTION technology from Health Guard Health Care
Ltd uses the active ingredient Permethrin; it prevents 45 %
of insect landings and 90 % of insect bites and stings. The
repellent effect is integrated into the fibres of the fabric
and is retained in full even after as many as 50 washes.
Unlike cosmetic skin protection products that are applied
to the skin, significantly lower concentrations of the active
ingredient is required. The repellent effect is not adversely
affected by sweating or contact with water. VITAL PRO-
TECTION technology is non-harmful to health and envi ronmentally
friendly.
- INSECT REPELLENT FINE OXFORD: Fast drying,
very lightweight insect repellent fabric with a robust
Oxford weave, moisture regulating properties and
excellent UV protection (UPF 40+; meets the AS/NZS
4399:1996 standard).
- INSECT REPELLENT RELIEF UV Q.M.C.: Lightweight,
smooth textured insect repellent fabric with
active moisture management and UV protection (UPF
30+; meets the AS/NZS 4399:1996 standard).
INSECT SHIELD: Insect protection technology with the
active ingredient Permethrin reduces insect landings by
45 % and bites and stings by 90 %. We use VITAL PRO-
TECTION technology from Health Guard Health Care Ltd.
The repellent effect is retained in full even after as many
as 50 washes.
INTEGRAL SUMMIT HOOD: This version of the SUMMIT
HOOD (see below) is permanently attached to the jacket.
In all other respects, it is identical to the SUMMIT HOOD.
The volume and field of vision can be adjusted with one
hand; the visor is separately engineered and reinforced.
KIDS BASIC HOOD with Safety Snaps: In this version of
the KIDS BASIC HOOD, the hood is attached to the jacket
with a special press stud safety system instead of a zip,
which means it detaches quickly from the jacket if it gets
caught. The volume and field of vision are adjustable.
KIDS ULTRA LIGHT HOOD: This fixed hood with integrated
visor is frequently used on our lighter children’s
jackets. The volume and field of vision are separately adjustable.
LIGHT HOOD IN COLLAR: This thin, lightweight hood
stows neatly in the collar of the jacket. It offers emergency
protection in wind and light rain and has an adjustable
field of vision.
LITTLE ROCK: A sturdy and versatile sole for children’s
hiking and leisure footwear. It consists of four components:
1. robust rubber outsole with sophisticated tread for various
types of activity and terrain
2. flexible forefoot section and integrated shock pads for
enhanced wear comfort
3. lightweight, flexible insole
4. cushioning EVA footbed with moisture regulating polyester
covering fabric
LOW WAIST: The waist band sits just above the hip bone.
