7. Call Sources<br />

Call Sources create circuit-switched workload. See Chapter 3 in the <strong>COMNET</strong> <strong>III</strong> Reference<br />

Guide for more information.<br />

<strong>COMNET</strong> <strong>III</strong> produces the three different Call Sources reports described in the following<br />

paragraphs.<br />

The first column in the Call Source reports is titled:<br />

ORIGIN/CALL NAME: DESTINATION LIST<br />

This column lists the name of the node and the name of the source for each node that has<br />

Call Sources attached to it and also lists the destination of the call. A Call Source will establish<br />

circuit switched routes across the network to the destination and hold the bandwidth on the<br />

route for the call holding time. All destinations in the destination list of the source are listed.<br />

For Random Neighbor destinations, all nodes connected via one link to the originating node<br />

are listed.<br />

Note: A call source may not be multicast.<br />
