1 April 1958 The 3600th Combat Crew Training <strong>Wing</strong> reassigned as a direct<br />
subordinate of <strong>Air</strong> Training Comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />
1 July 1958 In a move to place all fighter training under one comm<strong>and</strong>, wing<br />
reassigned from <strong>Air</strong> Training Comm<strong>and</strong> to Twelfth <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong><br />
under Tactical <strong>Air</strong> Comm<strong>and</strong>. The 3600th Combat Crew<br />
Training <strong>Wing</strong> redesignated as 4510th Combat Crew Training<br />
<strong>Wing</strong> (Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong>) <strong>and</strong> became the host unit. Subordinate<br />
groups were redesignated as the 4510th Combat Crew Training<br />
Group (<strong>Fighter</strong>), 4510th <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Base</strong> Group, 4510th Maintenance &<br />
Supply Group, 4510th Installations Group <strong>and</strong> 4510th USAF<br />

September 1959 Saguaro Manor base housing north of Glendale Ave opened with<br />
724 units.<br />
Bldg 1150, circa 1960<br />
10 June 1960 Phoenix <strong>Air</strong> Defense Sector, <strong>Luke</strong>'s largest tenant unit, moved<br />
into "Blockhouse," bldg 1150, which was designed to withst<strong>and</strong><br />
near miss by a nuclear device.<br />
1 July 1960 The 4510th Installations Group redesignated 4510th Civil<br />
Engineering Group <strong>and</strong> relieved of assignment to the wing.<br />
5 July 1960 F-86F program transferred to <strong>Luke</strong> from Williams AFB.<br />
23 October 1960 302d Special Operations Squadron assigned to base.
