October 1989 832d <strong>Air</strong> Division Support Center activated in Blockhouse, bldg<br />

1150, <strong>and</strong> relieved some of base's facilities shortfall.<br />

26 December 1989 310th Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong> Training Squadron conducted Blacklight<br />

exercise <strong>and</strong> became first unit to drop live ordnance on<br />

uncontrolled range at night using LANTIRN system.<br />

3 January 1990 Peace Carvin Program ended.<br />

29 November 1990 426th Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong> Training Squadron, 405th Tactical<br />

Training <strong>Wing</strong> F-15 fighter squadron, inactivated.<br />

18 January 1991 312d Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong> Training Squadron inactivated as USAF<br />

drew down F-16A/B units. Unit’s jets reassigned to more<br />

historically significant 311th Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong> Training Squadron.<br />

26 February 1991 Last F-16A/B used for training USAF pilots left <strong>Luke</strong>.<br />

11 April 1991 Operation Desert Storm ended. <strong>Luke</strong> deployed over 600<br />

personnel in support of operations, including 13 pilots who flew<br />

258 combat missions <strong>and</strong> provided real-world training in<br />

LANTIRN system.<br />

15 April 1991 USAF announced plan to consolidate all Regular AF F-16C/D<br />

training at <strong>Luke</strong>.<br />

1 October 1991 Major force structure realignment inactivated 832d <strong>Air</strong> Division<br />

<strong>and</strong> 405th Tactical Training <strong>Wing</strong> while 58th Tactical Training<br />

<strong>Wing</strong> redesignated a fighter wing (FW) <strong>and</strong> <strong>Luke</strong> host unit.<br />

Reorganization implemented objective wing, did away with<br />

deputy comm<strong>and</strong>ers for operations, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> resource<br />

management, <strong>and</strong> set up operations, logistics, support, <strong>and</strong><br />

medical groups. 4444th Operations Squadron reassigned to<br />

Tactical <strong>Air</strong> Comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

1 November 1991 All Tactical <strong>Fighter</strong> Training Squadron units redesignated <strong>Fighter</strong><br />

Squadrons.
