During the late 1970’s the 58th Tactical Training <strong>Wing</strong> conducted F-4/F-104/F-15/F-5<br />

training, which led to span of control problems. On 29 August 1979, a second wing, the<br />

405th Tactical Training <strong>Wing</strong>, activated <strong>and</strong> took on the F-5/F-15 programs while the<br />

58th Tactical Training <strong>Wing</strong> retained the F-4/F-104 programs. Shown in formation from<br />
