Motto
CAVE TONITRUM (Beware of the Thunderbolt)
Significance
The orange background was the color of the Army Air Corps and
represents the 56th Fighter Group's World War II service. The chevron,
representing support, is blue to signify the wing's flights in support of
the nation's quest for peace. The lightning bolts are symbolic of speed,
aggressiveness, and the capability to strike immediately in any direction.
