packaging
At their company headquarters in
mumbai, India, Wraptech machines
pvt. Ltd. manufactures a wide range
of high-quality form, fill and seal machines,
auger fillers and specialized
filling systems for the packaging industry.
Backed by years of expertise in
the development of custom machine
solutions and a global presence in
over 30 countries, the company has
become one of the most important
suppliers in the industry.
Reducing costs with scaleable
hardware
A conventional control solution
was no longer able to meet the
current requirements with regard
to speed and precision, so Wraptech
decided to change the system. primarily,
a solution was needed that it
made possible to equip various machine
types with a variety of machine
options in order to provide the corresponding
controller performance. B&R
was chosen because they provide a
wide range of scalable hardware and
local support. thanks to the capability
of integrating all of the components,
it became possible after a short time
to equip each machine type with a
custom system solution with special
consideration given to the price/performance
ratio. A centralized local
product warehouse guarantees the
highest level of availability for all con-
trol components when systems are
serviced.
Optimum performance for each
machine type
the main challenge was meeting the
schedule for changing over the various
machine types that was set when
development was started. All machine
types were to be changed over to the
B&R platform within six months. Simpler
applications were handled with a
B&R power panel pp15, which features
control and visualization in a single
device. Here, the mechanical fill axis
is controlled using the integrated highspeed
inputs and outputs on the pp15.
Reduced time to market!
A power panel pp45 or a power panel
PP420 was used to control the form, fill
and seal machines for high end products.
these devices also combine control
and visualization in one system,
but have increased processor performance
in comparison to a power panel
pp15. two servo
drives are used
for the fill axis and
the seal axis. Standard
technology
functions such as
print mark control,
etc. are used with
these machines
in addition to the
easily configured
functions for syn-
chronizing servo axes. thanks to the
possibility of making easy parameter
settings instead of time-consuming
programming for all of the necessary
machine functions, the time to market
was considerably reduced and the
schedule for changing over the various
applications was met. "Because
“Today, we deliver to customers in over
30 countries. Equipped with modern B&R
technology, we can quickly adapt our
machine solutions to the changing requirements
of the packaging industry and comprehensively
meet all of our customers'
requirements.“
Ashish Meghani
Managing Director
Wraptech
Through the use of
B&R technology, it was
possible to equip the
various Wraptech machines
with an ideal
control solution within
a very short time.
of our positive experience with B&R
developing various system solutions
and the much shorter commissioning
times, we will also implement our
future packaging designs using B&R
technology", says Ashish meghani,
managing Director at Wraptech.
