— <strong>World</strong> history: knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of: main historical processes<br />

<strong>and</strong> events in all continents since <strong>the</strong> early middle ages <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir interrelation<br />

<strong>and</strong> of current debates <strong>and</strong> research orientations regarding <strong>the</strong>m.<br />

— Analysis of documents: retrieving, underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> placing archival material,<br />

historiographical contributions <strong>and</strong> debates regarding <strong>the</strong> past in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

political <strong>and</strong> cultural context.<br />

— <strong>Historical</strong> period / <strong>the</strong>me: Detailed knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of a particular<br />

period/<strong>the</strong>matic domain <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> methodologies <strong>and</strong> historiographical<br />

debates regarding it.<br />

— Knowledge of <strong>the</strong> resources available for historical research including those<br />

based on ICT <strong>and</strong> ability to use <strong>the</strong>m appropriately.<br />

— Use of appropriate terminology <strong>and</strong> modes of expression of <strong>the</strong> discipline in<br />

oral <strong>and</strong> written form in one’s own language <strong>and</strong> in a second language.<br />

— Awareness of <strong>and</strong> ability to use tools of o<strong>the</strong>r human sciences as necessary<br />

with regard to a research project.<br />

— Cooperation to complete specific tasks relating to <strong>the</strong> discipline (ga<strong>the</strong>ring<br />

<strong>and</strong> treating data, developing analyses, presenting results).<br />

— Planning <strong>and</strong> delivering an individual research-based contribution to historiographical<br />

The graduate can demonstrate:<br />

— ability to formulate <strong>and</strong> refine a significant research problem, ga<strong>the</strong>red <strong>the</strong><br />

necessary information to address it <strong>and</strong> formulated a conclusion which can be<br />

defended in a scholarly context.<br />

— awareness of <strong>and</strong> commitment to scientific st<strong>and</strong>ards in accuracy <strong>and</strong> breadth<br />

of <strong>the</strong> documentation located, utilised <strong>and</strong> cited in assignments <strong>and</strong> in <strong>the</strong><br />

final dissertation.<br />

— ability to participate in group work productively <strong>and</strong> taking <strong>the</strong> lead on occasion,<br />

presiding over debates <strong>and</strong> discussions in an international or multicultural<br />
