Mystery Weekend<br />
November 2- 4, 2007<br />
Celebrate the sixth year for the Erle Stanley Gardner Mystery Weekend. Gardner<br />
was one <strong>of</strong> <strong>Temecula</strong>’s more famous citizens. From his house at Rancho del<br />
Paisano in the <strong>Temecula</strong> Valley, the prolific writer penned 151 books, including<br />
82 featuring the fictional defense attorney Perry Mason.<br />
Erle Stanley Gardner Mystery Weekend includes writing seminars, museum<br />
exhibits, a Cowboy Poet and Western Music evening titled "Around Uncle Erle's<br />
Campfire," and a mystery writing contest and photography contest. Seminars are<br />
held on Saturday at the Mary Phillips Senior Center and are free. The mysterywriting<br />
contest is open to amateur authors <strong>of</strong> "unpublished" original mysteries.<br />
There are three age categories: Middle School, High School and Adult. Prizes are<br />
awarded the top three in each category.<br />

Buckshot Dot<br />
Dot (Dee Strickland Johnson) is a Cowboy Poet,<br />
Author/Artist and Hysterical Relic. She was the<br />
Academy <strong>of</strong> Western Artists’ 1997 Female Cowboy<br />
Poet <strong>of</strong> the Year. According to Marshall Trimble,<br />
Official Arizona State Historian, “The only thing<br />
better that reading Dee’s poems is to sit in the<br />
audience and watch her perform them.”<br />
Curly Musgrave<br />
He is regarded as one <strong>of</strong> the most innovative and<br />
influential singer/songwriters in western Music<br />
Today. He has won the Academy <strong>of</strong> Western Artists<br />
Male Performer <strong>of</strong> the Year and Entertainer <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Year. He has also won the Western Music<br />
Association Male Performer <strong>of</strong> the Year and<br />
Songwriter <strong>of</strong> the Year several times. He sings with Belinda Gail with<br />
dynamic arrangements <strong>of</strong> original and traditional Western music as well as<br />
gospel and country.<br />
Belinda Gail<br />
Belinda Gail is “America’s Western Sweetheart.” Her captivating voice stirs<br />
the emotions and visions <strong>of</strong> the west in the heart <strong>of</strong> every audience she<br />
embraces. Belinda’s high energy and breathtaking performances have<br />
earned her the Western Music Association’s award for Female Performer <strong>of</strong><br />
