The Place Friends Meet<br />
General Information: The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Temecula</strong> Community Services Department<br />
<strong>of</strong>fers a wide variety <strong>of</strong> services and activities at the Mary Phillips Senior Center<br />
(MPSC). This beautiful facility is located at 41845 Sixth Street, and is equipped<br />
with three pool tables, a library, classrooms and auditorium with stage.The center<br />
is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Stop by and pick up our<br />
monthly calendar <strong>of</strong> activities and other information on senior programs and<br />
services. Several senior activities are also <strong>of</strong>fered at the <strong>Temecula</strong> Community<br />
Center, located at 28816 Pujol Street. Please check individual classes for dates<br />
and locations.<br />
Senior Nutrition Program<br />
Ages: 60+ and Spouses<br />
Meals On-Site: The <strong>Temecula</strong> Community Services Department, in cooperation<br />
with Riverside County Office on Aging and Sodexho Corporation, <strong>of</strong>fers a lunch<br />
program for seniors age 60+ and their spouses. Meals are served in a<br />
congregate setting at the Mary Phillips Senior Center. If you are unable to keep<br />
your reservation for any reason, please call the same number to cancel.<br />
Days: Monday - Friday Time: 11:30am<br />
Reservations: Call Nutrition Program at 694-6465 from 9:00am-1:00pm.<br />
Required 24 hours in advance.<br />
Suggested donation: $3.00 for seniors; $5.00 for non-seniors.<br />
Home Delivered Meals: The Nutrition Program <strong>of</strong>fers home-delivered meals to<br />
homebound and frail seniors in our community. Hot meals are delivered at<br />
lunchtime Monday through Friday, with frozen meals delivered for the weekends<br />
at the same time. For more information call the Nutrition Program at 694-6465<br />
from 9:00am-1:00pm.<br />

You go to the doctor for a check-up isn’t it time your medicines got a check up<br />
too? Join us for refreshments and receive valuable information about resources<br />
in your community. Receive a personal medication review and “Vial for Life”.<br />
Remember to bring ALL your prescription medications in their original bottles,<br />
and any over-the-counter medications including vitamins, dietary supplements,<br />
herbal medications, drops and creams.<br />

Sallyanne Bachman Concert<br />
Sallyanne Bachman made her debut when she performed at the Musical Theater<br />
with Goldie Hawn. Sally sings Classical & Country and everything in between, the<br />
music is geared for people over 65. Sally has performed with Pat Boone, Red<br />
Skelton, Bob Hope and Liberace, just to name a few. This event is free, however<br />
if you would like to stay for lunch, please RSVP at 694-6464 prior to July 9th. The<br />
cost for lunch is $3.00. This is one event you won’t want to miss.<br />

“Staying in Touch” with <strong>Temecula</strong> Seniors<br />
S.I.T. Program<br />
This program is designed to keep in touch with those<br />
<strong>Temecula</strong> seniors who are living alone or are home bound.<br />
Volunteers will call weekly to chat, listen and keep in touch with<br />
our older <strong>Temecula</strong> residents. If you are a <strong>Temecula</strong> senior and would like to be<br />
placed on our list to be called or to become a S.I.T. program volunteer, call the<br />
Mary Phillips Senior Center at 694-6464.<br />
Senior Excursions<br />
TCSD proudly <strong>of</strong>fers some exciting excursions just for our senior community. The<br />
following Senior Excursions depart from and return to the Mary Phillips Senior<br />
Center (MPSC), located at 41845 Sixth Street. Because <strong>of</strong> limited seating, we can<br />
only allow seniors age 55+ excursions. Keep in mind that all excursions involve<br />
lots <strong>of</strong> fun, but a great deal <strong>of</strong> walking, so remember to wear a comfortable pair<br />
<strong>of</strong> walking shoes. All Excursion registrations will be accepted at the MPSC,<br />
Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm. Registration will be taken on a firstcome,<br />
first-served basis until the excursion is filled. A $5 administration fee will<br />
be charged for any refund. No refunds will be issued after the listed deadline,<br />
unless the Community Services Department cancels the excursion. Plan to arrive<br />
at the designated departure site 15 minutes early. Smoking on board bus<br />
transportation is prohibited. Please Note: Excursions may be cancelled if the<br />
minimum number <strong>of</strong> participants is not reached.<br />
San Diego Aircraft Carrier<br />
Live the adventure, honor the legend aboard the longest serving aircraft carrier in<br />
U.S. Navy history – a 47 year odyssey that spanned the end <strong>of</strong> WWII and the<br />
liberation <strong>of</strong> Kuwait in 1991. Located downtown in San Diego at Navy Pier, this<br />
Midway provides a dynamic and enriching experience “from boiler to bridge.” A<br />
visit to Midway instills a greater appreciation for courage, freedom, and service<br />
to our country. A sack lunch is included.<br />

Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace<br />
Join us as we visit the nine acre Library and Birthplace that is a three-dimensional<br />
walk-through memoir featuring a 52,000 square foot museum, 22 high-tech<br />
galleries, movie and interactive video theaters. Visit the spectacular First Lady’s<br />
Garden, the President’s faithfully restored 1910’s birthplace, and the flower-ringed<br />
memorial sites <strong>of</strong> President and Mrs. Nixon. Lunch is on your own.<br />
