Water Aerobics/Aqua Exercise<br />
Ages: 12 Years - Adults<br />
A complete forty-five minute workout using the water as resistance to firm, tone<br />
and increase cardio-respiratory endurance. This is an ongoing class so you can<br />
join at any time. Please note: Classes scheduled at TES Pool will be shallow<br />
water only. For shallow water class, participants should be comfortable moving<br />
around in 3 to 4 feet <strong>of</strong> water. The ability to swim is not required. For classes<br />
held at the CRC Pool,Tuesday’s class will be a shallow water class and Thursday’s<br />
a deep water class. (See Deep Water class for description). It is not required that<br />
you participate in both class dates.<br />

Deep Water Aerobics<br />
Ages: 12 Years - Adults<br />
A non-impact aerobics workout in deep water. Wearing a belt creates “neutral<br />
buoyancy” allowing participants to work muscles in the limbs and core against<br />
the water’s resistance, resulting in increased cardio-respiratory and muscular<br />
endurance. Other benefits are increased overall strength, flexibility and range <strong>of</strong><br />
motion. Participants should be comfortable in deep water wearing a belt. Bring<br />
your own belt or purchase one from the instructor. This is an ongoing class so you<br />
can join at any time. Materials Fee: An optional $25.00 materials fee for a belt<br />
can be purchased from instructor.<br />

This program is designed for swimmers who need one-on-one swimming<br />
instruction. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants should<br />
be in a swimsuit ready for class at class time.<br />

Scuba Diving Lesson<br />
Ages: 10 Years - Adults<br />
Discover the fun and excitement <strong>of</strong> SCUBA diving. The Scuba Center <strong>Temecula</strong><br />
instructors, with over 45 years <strong>of</strong> combined experience are ready to teach you to<br />
explore our underwater world and certify you in as little as 2 weeks. Classroom<br />
instruction will take place at Scuba Center <strong>Temecula</strong> and pool instruction will take<br />
place at the CRC. Open-water dives will be conducted either on Catalina Island<br />
or La Jolla Shores. Participants must provide their own mask, snorkel, boots, fins<br />
and gloves. Each class session consists <strong>of</strong> classroom and pool instruction and<br />
two ocean dives. For a breakdown <strong>of</strong> the schedule for each session, please call<br />
951-506-0252.<br />
Please note: In order to be certified you must<br />
participate in open-water dives, which the<br />
instructor will discuss at the first class meeting.<br />

Swim Lesson Level Descriptions<br />
Parent N’Me<br />
Ages: 6 Months - 3 Years<br />
This course is designed for parent/child interaction. Emphasis is on water<br />
adjustment, water entry, bubble blowing, underwater exploration, front glide, front<br />
kick, arm movement, back float, rolling over, rescue breathing and safety skills.<br />
NOTE: Infants must wear plastic pants under their suits while in the water. Swim<br />
diapers ONLY, no regular diapers please.<br />
Toddler<br />
Ages: 3 - 5 Years<br />
This course is designed for those students between the ages <strong>of</strong> 3-5 years. Students<br />
must<br />
be able to listen and follow directions. Skills taught include water adjustment, bubble<br />
blowing, underwater exploration, introduction to front crawl stroke, back float and<br />
front float with support, kicking and alternate arm strokes.<br />
L1 - Level 1 Water Exploration Ages: 5 Years +<br />
In this course, students will learn elementary aquatic skills. Skills taught include<br />
bubble blowing, underwater exploration, introduction to front crawl stroke, back float<br />
and front float with support, kicking and alternate arm strokes.<br />
L2 - Level 2 Primary Skills Ages: 5 Years +<br />
Participant must have mastered Level 1 skills before entering this class. The objective<br />
<strong>of</strong> this course is for the students to successfully learn fundamental skills. The student<br />
will learn to float without support, and to recover to a vertical position. Other skills to<br />
be taught are glides, front arm motion, back arm motion, flutter kicks and rhythmic<br />
breathing. This level marks the beginning <strong>of</strong> true locomotion skills and adds to selfhelp<br />
and basic rescue skills.<br />
L3 - Level 3 Stroke Readiness Ages: 5 Years +<br />
Participant must have mastered Level 2 skills before entering this class. This course<br />
will teach the combined skills <strong>of</strong> front arm motion and rhythmic breathing, diving<br />
from the side <strong>of</strong> pool, back crawl and elementary backstroke kick. These skills are<br />
moving your child into the field <strong>of</strong> true aquatics.<br />
L4/5 - Level 4 Stroke Development/Level 5 Stroke Refinement Combo<br />
Level 4: Participant must have mastered Level 3 skills before entering this class. This<br />
course develops confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other<br />
aquatic skills. New skills introduced will be elementary backstroke, breaststroke and<br />
sidestroke. Students increase their endurance by swimming greater distances.<br />
Level 5 Stroke Refinement: Participant must have mastered Level 4 skills before<br />
entering this class. At this level the student will have the good basic stroke skills. The<br />
objective is to coordinate and refine key strokes. Butterfly, open turns and<br />
springboard diving will be introduced at this time.<br />
L6 - Level 6 Personal Water Safety/Fundamentals <strong>of</strong> Diving<br />
Participant must have mastered Level 5 skills before entering this class. The<br />
objective <strong>of</strong> Level 6 is to polish strokes so students use them with more ease,<br />
efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Personal safety survival<br />
swimming and self-rescue skills are introduced. Springboard diving fundamentals<br />
are also taught in this class. Swimming endurance is greatly increased during the<br />
course.<br />
