13 Device Drivers<br />

13.1 Extensions<br />

R&S ® ESCI, ESL, ESPI, ESU, FSL, FSP, FSU, FSV<br />

o Remote operation via LAN now enables to use a given port address (VISA normally uses<br />

dynamic port assignment). When the remote communication needs to pass a firewall, then<br />

only certain or fixed port addresses may be available. In order to use this feature ( raw<br />

socket operation ), the VISA address needs to be entered as e.g.<br />

"TCPIP::xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx::5025::SOCKET" (port address is 5025)<br />

with the x characters replaced with the instrument s IP address.<br />

R&S ® ESU with preamp option B24<br />

o The latest extensions in the firmware concerning the settings of the optional preamp LNA<br />

(option B24) are now fully supported.<br />

Generic Amplifier supports Standby / Operate switching using a switch unit<br />

o A new control mode is added to the generic amplifier, supporting to switch the amplifier to<br />

either operate or standby, via two switch paths of a switch unit defined in the device list.<br />

13.2 Improvements<br />

● R&S ® BBA100<br />

o Adaptation of the device driver to firmware version 1.11.<br />

● R&S ® FSET 22<br />

o In the 22 GHz mode now the available preamp selection are shown correctly.<br />

● R&S ® ESxI<br />

o An obsolete dependency with the tracking generator could block the level setting. This has<br />

been removed.<br />

● Receivers<br />

o GPIB data transfers: a premature SRQ from the receiver could lead to incomplete curve<br />

results. The cause for this behavior has been removed.<br />

● R&S ® SMA100A<br />

o The driver supports now CW output power levels up to 16 dBm and for AM modulated<br />

signals for a carrier level up to 10 dBm.<br />

● RadiSens field probe in RadiCentre main frame<br />

o A RadiSens field probe used via a RadiCentre main frame is now supported via GPIB using<br />

the <strong>EMC32</strong> device driver entry RadiCentre .<br />
