<strong>The</strong> <strong>Bluets</strong> 33<br />
Margery in 1377 118 . From her IPM 119 she had held the manor of<br />
Throgelstone [Thurcleston / Thurleston] in Herefordshire by gift of<br />
Walter Bluet and William Scernecote. Although Margery‘s brother, also<br />
called Anselm like her father, was her heir, the manor was inherited by<br />
Ralph‘s granddaughter, Elizabeth<br />
Ralph and Elizabeth‘s son, John 120 , inherited. He married Katherine<br />
Wogan. Little is known of John, but he held part of Daglingworth by<br />
service of a knight‘s fee of Elizabeth Talbot in 1373 121 .<br />
A charter of John and Katherine‘s daughter, Elizabeth, confirms the<br />
descent outlined above and shown in Fig.8 122 . Various dates for<br />

Bloet of the Villam de Ragalen by Earl Richard de Clare, son of Earl Gilbert, the<br />
second is a charter of Edward I (Calendar Patent Rolls 26 EdwI dated 5th April<br />
1298) granting to John Pychard that he and his heirs shall have a market and fair<br />
at their manor of Straddewy in the cantred of Talgarth<br />
A cantred was an administrative Welsh area, roughly equivalent to an English<br />
hundred, in Welsh Cant = hundred tref = dwellings
