Grading:<br />
• 20% HomeworkINotes<br />
o Homework and/or notes will be most days. There is no textbook for health so<br />
homework, notes and handouts will be your source for studying.<br />
• Homework will be accepted late, but there will be a 20% reduction for each<br />
day late: l day late =80% maximum possible, 2 days late =60%, etc.<br />
• 30% Projects<br />
o There will be 3 projects one on each of the following topics: Sex Education,<br />
Alcohol & Other Drugs and Communication. There is no textbook for health so<br />
your homework and notes will be your source of information to help you with your<br />
projects.<br />
• 50% Tests<br />
o There will be 3 tests one on each of the following topics: Communication, Sex<br />
Education and Alcohol & Other Drugs. There is no textbook for health so your<br />
homework and notes will be your source for studying for your tests.<br />
Procedures for class:<br />
• Signal<br />
o<br />
In order for me to get your attention at the beginning of class or when we are doing<br />
partner work, group work or when you just might get unfocused, I'm going to use a<br />
signal. The signal in,my health class will be "May I have your attention!"<br />
• Discipline<br />
o If you are acting inappropriately I will give you a warning. I'm really easy to get<br />
along with so please don't take away the opportunity for one of your classmates to<br />
learn in class. If you do and the behavior persists I will be forced to ask you to go<br />
to the office.<br />
• Tardiness<br />
o Be on time to class. If you are tardy 3 times you will have to serve a lunch<br />
detention. Each tardy .after that is an automatic lunch detention.
