9. OKDHS will finalize agency protocols for engaging and coordinating services for victims <strong>of</strong><br />

domestic violence and share these protocols with partner agencies including law<br />

enforcement, domestic violence service providers, and other mental health agencies as<br />

appropriate.<br />

10. OKDHS will request and support the Court Improvement Program by conducting a pilot in<br />

one to three counties to expand mediation so that it occurs earlier in the process <strong>of</strong> court<br />

involvement.<br />

11. OKDHS will explore the possibility <strong>of</strong> responding to the screened-out Hotline referrals by<br />

<strong>of</strong>fering community services to those families.<br />

12. OKDHS will collaborate with <strong>Oklahoma</strong> Schools <strong>of</strong> Social Work to increase the number <strong>of</strong><br />

social work students interested in applying for positions with OKDHS.<br />

13. OKDHS will collaborate with the Youth Services Agencies in creating a statewide vision or plan<br />

to identify ways they can better serve families involved in child welfare as they shift their<br />

business model away from shelter usage to more comprehensive services.<br />

14. In collaboration with the <strong>Oklahoma</strong> <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Mental Health and Substance Abuse<br />

Services (ODMHSAS), OKDHS will increase the number <strong>of</strong> children involved in child welfare<br />

services who are also served through Systems <strong>of</strong> Care. <strong>The</strong> work will begin in Year One, and<br />

will require at least five years to fully implement.<br />
