The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, though it does

Procurement Assistance to Small Businesses (CFDA
No. 59.009) – To assist small business in obtaining a “fair”
share of contracts and subcontracts for Federal government
supplies and services and a “fair” share of property sold by the
government.

Women’s Business Ownership Assistance (CFDA No.
59.043) – To fund private, nonprofit organizations to assist,
through training and counseling, small business concerns
owned and controlled by women, and to remove, in so far as
possible, the discriminatory barriers that are encountered by
women in accessing capital and promoting their businesses.
Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative (CFDA No. 59.044)
– The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the
SBA’s Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative for veterans and
members of the military community wanting to establish or
expand small businesses. The SBA and its resource partners
are focusing additional efforts on counseling and training to
augment this loan initiative.

Eligible military community members
include: Veterans, Service-disabled veterans,
Active-duty service members eligible for the
military’s Transition Assistance Program,
Reservists and National Guard members,
Current spouses of any of the above, The
widowed spouse of a service member or
veteran who died during service or of a
service-connected disability.
