(a) Concessional residents are those who receive an income support payment and have not owned a<br />

home for the last two or more years (or whose home is occupied by a ‘protected’ person, for example,<br />

the care recipient’s partner), and have assets of less than 2.5 times the annual single basic age<br />

pension. Assisted residents are those meeting the above criteria, but with assets between 2.5 and 4.0<br />

times the annual single basic age pension. Supported residents are those who have entered<br />

permanent residential care on or after 20 March 2008 (or who re-enter care on or after 20 March 2008<br />

after a break in care of more than 28 days) and have assets of up to a set value ($90 410.40 as at 30<br />

June 2008).<br />

(b) These data refer to permanent residents <strong>only</strong>, at their first admission.<br />
