Harness your
body’s potential
Regen PRP can improve skin laxity in the face and décolleTAge, reduce
the appearance of stretch marks on the body, and even stimuLATe hair
growth. Caitlin Bishop repoRTS.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is changing the future of
aesthetic medicine. It harnesses the body’s own
resources and natural healing mechanisms to
achieve a regenerative and rejuvenating response in the
skin. With a long history of use in sports medicine, PRP is
now taking over the cosmetic arena.
PRP stimulates collagen production in the skin and fuels
the treatment area with stem cells and growth factors. This
helps enhance skin tone, strengthen dermal integrity and
boost skin health on the face and body.
Companies such as Regen Lab are trail blazing the use
of PRP in cosmetic therapy, supplying cosmetic surgeons
and practitioners with devices needed to conduct the
procedure and optimise the results following treatment.
‘The Regen Lab PRP system is a well-established
system backed by a strong network of research from plastic
and cosmetic surgeons around the world,’ says Adelaide
cosmetic surgeon Dr Robin Chok. ‘I have been using
Regen PRP since 2012, with excellent results to the face
initially. It was actually my patients, after experiencing great
results in facial rejuvenation, who pushed me to develop a
program for the neck and body.’
The procedure involves extracting a sample of the
patient’s blood, centrifuging this sample to concentrate the
blood’s platelets and reinjecting the concentrated solution
into the treatment area. According to Dr Abbas Al-Taiff in
Sydney, Regen PRP can achieve effective rejuvenation in a
number of problem areas. ‘The Regen PRP system gives a
clear and good concentration of platelets that is necessary
for the appropriate treatment,’ he says. ‘I have achieved
excellent results treating patients with infra orbital laxity
around the eyes, lack of skin elasticity in the hands and
abdominal stretch marks.’
With seemingly endless applications, Regen PRP
signifies a potential solution to improving the neck and
décolletage area, which is traditionally difficult to treat.
