This continued improvement is due to a process called
collagenogenesis, which is the production of new collagen
fi bres in the skin. Over time, the appearance of sagging
skin is improved and the contours of the jaw line become
better refi ned. The production of new connective fi bres
noticeably softens the lines and wrinkles around the mouth,
eyes and forehead, causing the skin to appear plumped
and refreshed.
‘Thermage treatment can make a patient look and
feel years younger,’ Lin explains. ‘The results
continue to improve after treatment, so
patients can see increased rejuvenation for up
to six months post-procedure.’
During treatment, patients can experience
some mild discomfort due to the thermal
response in the skin but this is usually managed
with cooling gel. However, the newest
evolution of Thermage includes a patented
Comfort Pulse Technology, which uses gentle
vibrations and interspersed cooling to increase
the comfort of Thermage treatment.
Treatment itself usually takes between 45
and 90 minutes and, in most cases, only one
session is required to achieve the best result.
Following a Thermage procedure, there is
typically no redness or swelling.
‘Thermage is most commonly used for the
BEFORE
neck and face, however it can also achieve
effective results in rejuvenating the décolletage,
which is usually very diffi cult to treat,’ Lin
explains. ‘We also have patients who undergo
Thermage treatment to tighten the upper arms,
abdomen, buttocks, thighs and the backs of
the hands.’
option in combating facial ageing for both an immediate
and long-term result. As Pally Beauty prepares to open a
new Laser Clinic in Sydney’s CBD this month, Thermage will
be a valuable addition to the new anti-ageing destination.
‘In my experience, Thermage affords effective results in
a simple, gentle and non-invasive procedure,’ Lin says. ‘It
can be used as a stand-alone rejuvenation treatment, or in
conjunction with other therapies for a holistic, convenient
and noticeable anti-ageing result.’ csbm
Notably, Thermage can be used in
conjunction with other collagen induction
therapies or laser treatments for a more
universal rejuvenation. When incorporated into
a beauty regime, a single Thermage treatment,
performed annually, can help turn back the
clock and keep the signs of ageing at bay.
By kick-starting the body’s natural
rejuvenation processes and triggering collagen
production in the skin, Thermage is a viable
