A new dependent variable can be added to future research in order to measure memory. The<br />

current study used free recall to measure memory, whereas in future research we can use a four-point<br />

recognition system in which the participant is asked to pick the image that has or has not been previously<br />

shown to them. In the example below, you can see how the four-point recognition system would appear to<br />

the participants.<br />

This type of dependent variable would much be easier to score than current free recall measures<br />

and could provide valuable information about normal versus bizarre scenes. It is very unclear what type of<br />

results may be collected from these experiments, as there has not been much work in this specific area. This<br />

will be a long process, but is expected to lead to some very interesting and insightful results.<br />
