Attachment 2 Elements <strong>of</strong> the Integrated Planning Framework<br />
PURPOSE<br />
1. To adopt the <strong>Shire</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kalamunda</strong>’s four year Corporate Business Plan -<br />
<strong>Kalamunda</strong> Achieving: Corporate Business Plan 2013 – 2017 (Attachment 1).<br />
BACKGROUND<br />
2. The Department <strong>of</strong> Local Government’s Integrated Planning Framework<br />
(“IPF”) requires local governments to establish a number <strong>of</strong> interlinked<br />
guiding plans. The outcomes <strong>of</strong> a successful integrated planning process, as<br />
stated by the Department, are:<br />
“A Strategic Community Plan that clearly links the community’s aspirations<br />
with the Council’s vision and long term strategy;<br />
A Corporate Business Plan that integrates resourcing plans and specific<br />
council plans with the Strategic Community Plan, and<br />
A clearly stated vision for the future viability <strong>of</strong> the local government area.”<br />
3. Council adopted <strong>Kalamunda</strong> Advancing: Strategic Community Plan to 2023<br />
(“the Strategic Plan”) in March (OCM 22/2013). As the next element <strong>of</strong> the<br />
integrated planning framework, the Corporate Business Plan is now<br />
presented.<br />
4. The elements <strong>of</strong> the IPF detailing the hierarchical alignment <strong>of</strong> the Corporate<br />
Business Plan are illustrated in (Attachment 2).<br />
DETAILS<br />
5. <strong>Kalamunda</strong> Achieving: Corporate Business Plan 2013 -2017 (Attachment 1)<br />
(“<strong>Kalamunda</strong> Achieving”) sets out the priority actions, services and projects<br />
that the <strong>Shire</strong> will carry out over a four year period, together with the<br />
resources that will be required.<br />
6. <strong>Kalamunda</strong> Achieving addresses the requirements <strong>of</strong> the Integrated Planning<br />
Framework. Each priority action, service or project within the Plan is linked to<br />
an Objective and Strategy from the adopted Strategic Plan. This ensures the<br />
<strong>Shire</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kalamunda</strong>
