The 4-ft. Slinky Spring with three times the normal length is ideal for demonstrating<br />
several fundamentals of wave motion. When the spring is extended to 30 ft., a lateral or<br />
longitudinal pulse can be observed in detail as it travels at the slower rate corresponding<br />
to low tension. By comparison, the longer and heavier 6-ft. helical spring demonstrates<br />
the effects of greater mass and of greater tension. Another interesting experiment<br />
is to join the two springs in line, stretch them, and observe the behavior of a pulse<br />
